In 1970 Teodor Garabet started his new career as a project manager and canvasser for large-scale projects at Eisenbau Essen GmbH (EBE) in Germany, a subsidiary of Ferrostaal AG.

His first project was the turnkey construction of the integrated stainless steel works in Charqueadas, Brazil, for the Brazilian firm Acos Finos Piratini (AFP).

The know-how was provided by the then Swedish group Bofors, whose expertise in both the production of stainless steel and the manufacture and export of armaments was world-renowned.

However, AFP had been planning to produce stainless steel for civil applications such as steel bars in the automotive industry and other fields.

After the restructuring of the energy concept at Bofors and the implementation of the first contract additions between Ferrostaal and AFP, Teodor Garabet took over the co-ordination and execution of the entire electrical and energy supply field until 1973, as well as the execution of numerous contracts with European and Brazilian electric companies.
